“Puffin Hostel Vík is perfectly situated just a short walk from the stunning black sand beach, making it a great base for exploring.”view full review

Set in a historic century-old building, 1908 Hostel By Troell is a Vik i Myrdal hotel offering budget accommodation with shared bathroom facilities, a communal kitchen, and free WiFi. Free parking and non-smoking rooms are available.

Amenities

Rooms are simply decorated and share bathroom facilities. The hostel provides heating, a shared lounge/TV area, board games/puzzles, laundry, luggage storage, express check-in/check-out, CCTV in common areas, and fire extinguishers. The communal kitchen is well-equipped for cooking.

Services

Breakfast is included and served at the Puffin Hotel next door or at Vik Inn. Check-in is handled at the Puffin Hotel reception, with key access provided. The staff there also offer guidance on local activities.

Points of Interest

Jeep tours around the surrounding mountains can be arranged. A public indoor swimming pool and horse riding at Vík Horse Adventure are both a 10-minute walk away. Nearby attractions include Vík's famous black beach, Kötlusetur Museum next door, black crust Pizzeria, and the molten Lave show.

Transportation

1908 Hostel by Tröll is situated in Vík town centre, a 10-minute walk from the black sand beach. The bus station is nearby, and several restaurants are within walking distance. Free street parking is available, but note the steep, narrow stairs and lack of elevator.
